Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering sound similar but are very different.  Electronics engineering is basically related with the digital data processing  which results into the PLC SCADA programming. It also deals with electrical  appliances and their control. Both these degrees are well recognized in core  industries.

The placements in this industry are good. Pay scale for a fresher starts from Rs.3.00 lacs p.a.

It is recommended  to pursue a Masters from a reputed institute in India or abroad as job  prospects get only better with specialization.

One can pursue VLSI  Design, Red Hat certification courses as value addition. Also, interning in a  good organisation acts as the icing on the cake as it provides real time  exposure to the students.

One needs good  knowledge of PLC , Digital data processing. Plus good communication skills,  commercial awareness, problem-solving skills, ability to work independently  are a must.

Specialisation is  the need of the hour and hence I would advise students to do Masters in India  by appearing for GATE exam or pursue the same abroad.
